The design process

You’ll work directly with Leysa on your project, who understands the excitement and overwhelm of business ownership — and the competing priorities you’ve got going on in your life. So, in full transparency, these are the steps in our brand design process.

01. Onboarding

To get started, book your project via the booking form. This helps me to learn more about your business and gives me the opportunity to check my schedule so I can propose a starting date. I’ll reach out within 1-2 business days to let you know about my availability, and if it suits, I’ll send your contract to sign and and invoice for your deposit, to secure your spot in my schedule.

02. Creative Direction

In one, easy-to-understand presentation, I'll outline your brand foundations: get clear on your brand personality, define your target audience and outline our overarching design goals.

This is also where I’ll include our visual direction in the form of a moodboard. By exploring and planning our visual ideas first, it helps us to get on the same page and act as a reference to guide us through the rest of the process.

03. Design

04. Delivery

Once your concepts have been approved, I’ll compile your brand style guide to ensure that, moving forward, you'll have a solid reference for all of your brand's visual elements, typography and colours. Then, I’ll send across your final invoice and get to preparing all your final files. Upon full payment, you’ll receive all of your brand assets via a download link, ready for launch!

Do you have a logo only option?

I already have a logo — can I work with you?

If you still feel connected to your existing logo I am happy to refine or rebrand your existing logo as part of building out a full brand identity suite, to better align with your values or business goals.

However, I always have your business' best interests in mind, so I will advise you if I think you need to consider a new visual direction to better connect with your audience.

How do payments work?

An initial deposit is required to secure your spot in my schedule. This amount is non-refundable but will be deducted from your final invoice. The final payment is the remainder of your invoice and is required before handover of your files.

I’ll forward you invoices through my Hiveage accounting system, where you’ll have the option to pay with your credit card via Stripe, through Paypal, or via direct bank transfer.

What if I want extra revisions?

What if there are delays?

I understand that unforeseen delays can happen, for both you and for me.

For our project, there will be due dates for me to present concepts to you and there will be due dates for you to give me feedback. Generally, I always allow 5-7 business days for you to give your feedback.

If I'm expecting something from you (feedback, copy, materials, etc.) and I don't hear from you within 3 days of your due date, a $140 AUD late fee will be added to your final invoice to account for project rescheduling. The project will then resume at a time specified by me. I try to avoid doing this as much as possible, but sometimes it is necessary to avoid a project stalling. If something comes up that prevents you from honouring a due date, please try to let me know ahead of time so that I can make an exception.
